Interview with Freddy Prost: digital strategy manager and cultural ambassador

What actually defines our corporate culture?
Who ensures that values are not just written on paper, but are actually lived?

With passion, humor, and an open ear, he brings a breath of fresh air to our collaboration and ensures that we not only work together, but also grow together.
Freddy is also responsible for the Swiss market at adverserve. He is Swiss himself, but has been living in Vienna for a long time.

You are our cultural ambassador – if adverserve were a country, how would you describe its culture?

This country would be a pioneer when it comes to combining tradition and modernity.
Its culture is constantly evolving and should inspire other people who come to the country of adverserve.

What does „team spirit“ mean to you – and how do you manage to live it every day?

Team spirit is about working together, and the question of „how“ always arises for me, as it always depends on the individual.

What is your secret recipe for making everyone feel comfortable?

If I revealed it, it wouldn’t be a secret recipe anymore 😉. Suffice to say, the most important ingredients are tolerance and respect.

What is your favorite feel-good song that you would play to lift the mood in the office?

Waiting on a Sunny Day by Bruce Springsteen – in my opinion, it instantly creates a good mood.

What else would you like to achieve in your role as cultural ambassador in the future?

I would like to continue to encourage people to reach out to each other even more so that there is even more networked exchange between the teams. And I want to involve our Croatian colleagues even more. Of course, they live their culture in the office in Zagreb and they also have their own rituals, etc. But it’s important that they also feel part of the bigger picture.

Love brought you to Vienna – what was your first impression of the city?

I immediately felt that the city had almost as much charm as my wife 😉.

What do you sometimes miss about Switzerland – and what do you particularly love about Vienna?

I miss the Swiss mountains when I look out of the window.
But what I love about Vienna is the „Schmäh und Charme” (wit and charm), which is hard to explain – you just have to experience it.

You look after our Swiss customers from Austria. How does customer service in Switzerland differ from that in Austria – are there any cultural differences that surprise you?

I don’t think the differences are very big here, as I also look after customers in Austria and communicate with colleagues there, and the same needs arise there.
Four languages are spoken in Switzerland: French, Italian, Romansh, and German. It’s always exciting when you communicate with customers, and it never ceases to amaze me.

What do you enjoy most about working with the Swiss market?

What I enjoy most is having the right feel for the technical challenges and finding the best solutions for our customers. That’s what drives me. I also try to communicate with customers on an equal footing. It may well be that we don’t have the solution immediately available, so open communication is very important here in order to grow together with the customer. Sometimes the search for a cause is very complex, and when we can then offer the customer a solution, it feels great.

What motivates you to give your best for customers and colleagues every day?

A good cup of coffee in the morning and a sincere thank you during the day – that’s often all it takes.

If you had to describe your perfect leisure activity, what would it be?

A day of skiing in the mountains with my family.

What was your funniest or craziest moment at adverserve?

Generation X makes it onto Instagram. Well, me in a funny video that we made together with our social media colleagues.

What is your personal tip for getting back into a good mood after a stressful day?

Immerse yourself in the world of your favorite music and switch off.
